What you’ll do
- Supervise and guide the quality team in running quality assurance and compliance programmes
- Develop and maintain quality control procedures for every production stage, from raw material sourcing to distribution
- Carry out routine audits and inspections of facilities, equipment and processes to find areas for improvement
- Work with production, supply chain and NPD teams to build quality checks into each stage
- Keep full records of quality control processes, test results, audits and corrective actions
- Investigate quality issues, find root causes and put corrective and preventive actions in place
- Keep up with industry regulations, food safety standards and best practice
- Train and mentor quality team members and build a culture of continuous improvement
- Work with regulatory agencies and external auditors on compliance with laws and standards
- Lead initiatives that raise quality awareness across the company
What the employer asks for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Quality Management or a related field
- Professional certification such as Six Sigma or HACCP preferred
- At least 1–2 years in a quality assurance role in the food or dairy industry, with leadership experience
- Strong grasp of quality assurance principles, food safety regulations and industry best practice
- Close attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
- Leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to manage a team and work across functions
- Working knowledge of quality management systems and tools and Microsoft Office
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
