The Haryana Public Service Commission recruits Food Safety Officers for the Food & Drugs Administration Department, Haryana. The Group-B role covers inspection of food businesses, sample collection and enforcement of food-safety law.

The Haryana Public Service Commission recruits 45 Food Safety Officers (Group-B) for the Food & Drugs Administration Department, Haryana under Advertisement No. 25/2026. The notification allows a Screening Test, Subject Knowledge Test and interview, or a direct Subject Knowledge Test and interview without screening. The detailed paper scheme has not been announced.

2. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

1. (a) Should possess a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or Doctorate degree from a recognized university or institution in following disciplines: -

Horticulture

Veterinary Sciences or Bio-Chemistry or Microbiology or Chemistry or medicine from a recognized University,

Bachelor of Medicines and Bachelor of Surgery or Bachelor of Dental Surgery or Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery or Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery or Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery or Bachelor of Ayurvedic medicine and Surgery or Bachelor of Sowa Rigpa Medicine and Surgery; or any other equivalent recognized qualification notified by the Food Authority with the prior approval of the Central Government;

(b) has successfully completed training as specified by the Food Authority in a recognized institute or Institution approved for the purpose; and

2. Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects in Matric or Hindi as one of the subjects in Higher Education.

Note:- (1) Training mentioned at serial number 1(b) will given after appointment and the candidates who shall complete the training successfully shall be notified as Food Safety Officer.

(2) No person who has any financial interest in the manufacture, import or sale of any article of food shall be appointed as Food Safety Officer under Food Safety & Standard Rules, 2011, as amended from time to time.

Advertisement No. 25/2026 describes a possible three-stage recruitment process. HPSC may instead go directly to the Subject Knowledge Test and interview, without a Screening Test.

How selection may proceed

Screening Test, if held. HPSC may use it to shortlist candidates when applications are numerous. The notice also allows shortlisting by educational marks, qualifications or relevant experience.
Subject Knowledge Test. This is the subject-stage test named in the notification. HPSC can hold it after a Screening Test or directly.
Interview. The notification names an interview after the Subject Knowledge Test; it does not prescribe its marks here.
