UPPSC Food Safety Officer 2026

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission recruits Food Safety Officers for the state's food-safety administration. Its selection process includes a preliminary examination, a main written examination and an interview.

The Uttar Pradesh Food Safety Officer selection process comprises a preliminary examination, a descriptive main examination and an interview. The preliminary stage includes General Studies Paper I and a qualifying CSAT Paper II. Only Paper I marks contribute to selection for the main examination.

Who can apply

A degree in Food Technology satisfies the prescribed educational qualification for Food Safety Officer posts in India. Rule 2.1.3 of the Food Safety and Standards Rules, 2011 defines this qualification at the national level.

Degree in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Oil Technology, Agricultural Science, Veterinary Science, Bio-Chemistry or Microbiology
or an M.Sc in Chemistry, or a degree in Medicine
Plus the training the Food Authority specifies, at a recognised institute
