Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune, M.Sc. Food Technology with DFRL Mysuru 2027

DIAT Pune runs a two-year M.Sc. in Food Technology with DRDO's Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL), Mysuru. Admission has been for candidates sponsored by the Ministry of Defence, public sector units or industry, selected by interview; it is not an open entrance exam for fresh graduates.

The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune, a deemed university of DRDO, offers a two-year M.Sc. in Food Technology in collaboration with the Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL), Mysuru; the first year is taught at DIAT and the second at DFRL. DIAT's 2024 admissions notice offered it only to candidates sponsored by the Ministry of Defence (DRDO and the Services), public sector units or industry, who must stay on full salary and be relieved for the whole course, and stated that sponsored candidates are admitted through an interview at DIAT. DIAT's programme page also mentions IIT-JAM or a DIAT written test for self-financed candidates, but no notice has opened the food programme on that basis. A 2021 entrance question paper for this programme circulates online as an unofficial upload (multiple-choice, covering biology, chemistry, basic physics and engineering, computers and agriculture); there is no official copy or key. If you are preparing, revise undergraduate food science and technology: the site's GATE XL and GATE XE mocks (/exam/gate-xl, /exam/gate-xe) cover that ground.
