Kerala Public Service Commission Dairy Extension Officer (Dairy Development Department) 2027

The Kerala Public Service Commission recruits Dairy Extension Officers for the Dairy Development Department through a 100-question objective test on market milk, dairy products, engineering, chemistry, microbiology, quality, milk production, fodder, co-operation and extension.

Dairy Extension Officers in Kerala's Dairy Development Department are recruited state-wide by the Kerala Public Service Commission. Category No. 23/2026 was notified on 30 May 2026 for anticipated vacancies, with applications closing on 1 July 2026 and the test still to be scheduled. Kerala PSC selects through an objective test, followed by a short list and a ranked list. The previous cycle, Cat. 008/2021, was tested online on 31 January 2023 with a fully technical 100-question paper, while the 2015 paper (Cat. 157/2013) mixed general knowledge with dairy science.

Who can apply

For Cat. No. 23/2026 a candidate needs a B.Sc. in Dairy Science or a B.Tech. in Dairy Science and Technology and must be 20 to 41 years old (born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2006), with the usual relaxations. No application fee is charged.

  • Qualification (23/2026): B.Sc. in Dairy Science or B.Tech. (Dairy Science and Technology) from a recognised university or the National Dairy Research Institute (ICAR). Food technology degrees are not listed.
  • Equivalent or higher qualifications recognised by Government order are accepted, and Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR applies.
  • Age: 20-41; only candidates born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2006 (both included), with relaxation for SC, ST and OBC as per the General Conditions.
  • Apply online through One Time Registration on keralapsc.gov.in; candidates must confirm through their profile before the test to receive an admission ticket.
  • 4% of reported vacancies are reserved for differently abled candidates. The ranked list stays in force for one to three years.

Mock tests follow the Kerala PSC objective test as set for this post in 2023: 100 multiple-choice questions, 1 mark each, a third of a mark lost for each wrong answer, weighted by the ten modules of the detailed syllabus. The 90-minute duration is reported by a coaching blog for the 31 January 2023 online test; Kerala PSC's published key does not print it.

Marking scheme

+1 for a correct answer and minus one third of a mark for a wrong answer. Marking more than one answer, or altering an answer, also counts as wrong. An unanswered question scores zero. Our mocks for this exam are scored the same way.
