The ASRB National Eligibility Test determines eligibility for Assistant Professor and Lecturer posts in agricultural universities. Food Technology is one of the available subject disciplines. Qualification establishes eligibility and does not constitute appointment to a specific vacancy.

Conducted by
Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB)

Who can apply

Applicants must hold the prescribed postgraduate qualification and satisfy the applicable age requirements for the teaching eligibility test.

  • Master's degree in Food Technology / Food Science and Technology or a closely related discipline, as notified per cycle
  • Qualifying NET makes you eligible to apply for Assistant Professor/Lecturer posts in SAUs/AUs — it does not itself guarantee a post
  • Age limit, minimum percentage and relaxations are set per cycle in the notification

A summary. Confirm the details in the current notice.

ASRB does not publish a discipline-wise cut-off for Food Technology that we could find, on its own site or anywhere else. What ASRB does fix is a minimum qualifying standard for NET, the same every year: a candidate who reaches it in their discipline qualifies. The figures are as reported; ASRB's own site could not be reached to confirm them.
