NIFTEM syllabus 2026

NIFTEM-K fills any M.Tech seats left after GATE and CUET-PG counselling with its own entrance test. Everyone sits a common general-ability part, then one domain section chosen through the department preference given when applying. The prospectus lists only the broad subject areas for each section. It does not give a topic-level M.Tech syllabus, so the outline below stays at that level rather than filling in topics NIFTEM-K has not published.

Exam pattern and marking

• 100 MCQs of 1 mark each, 90 minutes
• -0.25 for each wrong answer
• Part A: 30 questions, common to all candidates
• Part B: 70 questions from one of five domain sections
• Held only at the NIFTEM-K campus in Kundli, Sonipat; there are no other centres
• Offered only for seats still vacant after GATE and CUET-PG admissions; non-GATE/non-CUET admits receive no NIFTEM-K fellowship
