From OSSC Advertisement No. 5919/OSSC (CGLRE Specialist-2025), clause 5 and Annexure-C. OSSC lists the syllabus heads without marks for each; the split in our mocks (30 questions per head) is our own. Merit is decided by the main technical paper.
Every section is compulsory, with no choice between them, and the paper is timed at 150 minutes.
| Section | Questions | Marks | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arithmetic & Data Interpretation | 60 | 60 | Compulsory |
| Logical Reasoning, Analytical & Mental Ability | 30 | 30 | Compulsory |
| Current Events of National & International Importance | 30 | 30 | Compulsory |
| Computer & Internet Awareness | 30 | 30 | Compulsory |
| Paper total | 150 | 150 |
OSSC's preliminary examination is one screening paper: 150 objective questions, 150 marks, 150 minutes, with 0.25 mark deducted for each wrong answer. It shortlists five times the vacancies for the main paper; its marks are otherwise used only to break ties. OSSC lists five syllabus heads without marks for each, so our mocks give each head 30 questions: arithmetic (10th standard) and data interpretation together make 60, then reasoning and mental ability 30, current events 30, and computer and internet awareness 30. There is no Odisha GK or English section.
Marking scheme
+1 for a correct answer, −0.25 for a wrong answer (OSSC Advt 5919/OSSC, clause 5, preliminary examination). An unanswered question scores zero. Our mocks for this exam are scored the same way.
